Swiss soprano Franziska Andrea HEINZEN holds degrees with honors from the music universities of Zürich and Düsseldorf. Currently, she is working with Konrad Jarnot. Recent engagements include Annio (LA CLEMENZA DI TITO/Mozart) for the theatre of Trier and Ulm, Susanna (LE NOZZE DI FIGARO/Mozart) at the theatre of Hagen (cover) as well as various freelance productions like the world premiere of the opera LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY by Mouthon in Zurich.
Along with her repertoire in opera as a lyric soprano, she is a distinguished recitalist, known for well-selected programmes and sensitive interpretations with her pianist Benjamin Mead. The duo gave recent concerts at the Schumannfest in Düsseldorf, at the Rhonefestival für Liedkunst as well as the Schubertiada Vilabertran in Barcelona. In addition, Franziska is also a passionate interpreter of oratorios such as numerous baroque oeuvres by Bach or Handel, various works by Mozart and Haydn, spanning to romantic music such as Mahler’s IV. Symphony until contemporary music.
Franziska is a Britten-Pears Young Artist, and scholar of the Richard Wagner Verband Dortmund. In 2017 she was awarded the music endowment award of the canton Wallis in Switzerland and is currently supported by MusikPro Valais.
